Our Company

15 Feathers was founded in 2024 as a collaboration between generations with the goal of artistic expression and financial stability through entrepreneurship. The company name is based on the Seven Generations Teachings and serves as a reminder that we are never alone.

Our lives have been impacted by the seven generations that came before us, and everything we do will impact the seven generations that follow. This places us at the center of 15 generations of connected lives, helping us to walk a good path by reminding us to be grateful for those who came before and conscious of those who will come after us.

In the same way that every feather in a bird’s wing is unique in shape and size, so too are we all unique. No single feather is more important than the others. In isolation a single feather may be battered and pushed by the wind. It is only by using our gifts and strengths in harmony with each other that we are able to soar to great heights together.

Whenever possible, all of our products are personally handmade using original photographs and designs. Because each woman brings her own skills, experience, and creativity to our business, each piece is unique to the person who designed and made it. When necessary, we do sometimes outsource for patterns or processes that we don’t have access to on our own. In such cases, credit will be posted on the applicable product page in the “details” section to notify customers that manufacture and/or design has been outsourced in some way.

Our Stories

Margaret O’Neill (Grandmother/Mother)

Margaret loves to travel and has visited different cities and sites across Canada. Whether it’s admiring art and architecture, attending special events, or just being out on the land, you’ll never find her travelling without her camera.
In her free time, Margaret likes to spend time with her family. If she’s not travelling, you’ll usually find her at the cabin or catching up on beading.

Jamie Lee (Mother/Daughter)

Jamie loves to learn new things and has a background in small scale manufacturing. In particular, Jamie likes to work with different materials and processes to make beautiful and useful things.
Jamie doesn’t have a lot of free time, but when she does you’ll usually find her studying, working in the fabrication lab on a new project, or relaxing with her children.

Lily Blacklaw (Daughter/Granddaughter)

Lily loves to create art, and enjoys exploring new techniques. She primarily works with digital design, but more recently has been experimenting with alternative processes and media. In particular, she has been enjoying developing skills in pyrography.
In her free time Lily likes to try new things and you’ll often find her researching something new on the internet, experimenting with a new recipe, or chatting with friends.
